Hi all,
in my company, we are working with the ARIS Business Designer/Architect in Version 7.2.
We have now an ongoing project with external consultants which have to design processes - so our idea was to let them use ARIS Express (version 2.4 - the latest release) to create BPMN processes.
I tried now in several ways to import the ARIS Express .adf files into our system (even with the help of our administrator), however all import tries are failing. I tried for example to use the complete ARIS Model Templates as described here: https://www.ariscommunity.com/users/andresamarco/2013-07-15-how-import-aris-express-aris-it-architect-72
Attached you find an example file - would be great if someone could help me to solve this issue so we can import the project results in our ARIS plattform.
Cheers!
Hi, your model successfully imported:

Hi,
thank you for your feedback. Sorry for the late reply from my side.
Still not working - we contacted as well our Software AG customer support - they were unfortunately not really helpful because the support for version 7.2. seems to be ended.
Frank, could you please explain to me how to extract the logs from server and clients?
I did not find any documentation about this.
Thank you!
Kevin
Thank you Frank,
we did that now... no log file is created... there are some files in the folder, but they are all empty.
Please see the screenshots...
PS: I tried now something different as well - as a student, I have access to the University package and I installed ARIS 9.x (the newest version) on my private computer - there, I imported the .adf files, converted them into .xml files... but we could not import them to ARIS 7.1... Really frustrating...
Hi,
I could imaging that this was a bug in the 7.1 version you are using, since it is working fine in 9.8.
As I said, it was possible to import it on my side with the 7.2 version I've got.
If you need the files urgently, you could send them to contact@ariscommunity.com, so I could import them in to 7.2 and send you a adb file back...
Is it possible to update to the latest 7.2 version?
Bye,
Frank
Hi Frank,
thanks a lot to your offer and your effort. I really, really appreciate it.
It is kind of frustrating on my side...
I will discuss the further steps internally - our project is still running, so a solution is not too urgent.
Just wanted to have it from my plate... ;)
Best,
Kevin
Hi Diego,
do you have an architect license or a designer license only.
Open a database in the ARIS explorer, select a group, context menu, "Import" -> ARIS Express models.
Make sure you have the appropriate function privilege (system user or "Database export" which mean xml-export and -import) and access rights in the group.
Bye,
Frank
