ARIS Designer to Express ?

Sorry, this is not possible and will also not be in the future. If you want to work independently with the other ARIS you should use the LOCAL server scenario, with that you are able to work with it everywhere you want.

yes, with the next version of ARIS, it will be possible to import Express ADF files into the Business Architect.

the version providing the possibility to import the ADF files in to ARIS Business Architect (not the Business Designer) will be the next release of the 7.1 version. In 7.02, this will not be supported.

thx for your prompt reply.Does that mean that it is not possible to import express files with the aris toolset or business designer? We donot have a licence for business architect

Hello Sander,

I'm wondering why do you not have an Architect license. Of course for some persons in the project Designer licenses are enough, but the Architect you need for administration purposes (user and database management, method configuration, consolidation, ...). Import from Express to ARIS database is not an everyday task, so it should be done by the administrator.

The ARIS Toolset is not an option here because with our next major release it will not be supported anymore.

This means that when we upgrade to 7.1 the toolset cannot be used any more for making publications and other administrator tasks and that the business architect will take over these tasks? Do we than need to buy a new licence  or can we exchange the toolset licensce for the business architect licence?

Hi Sander,

no, for ARIS 7.1 also the toolset is available. My statement was regarding the next major release we expect in second half of next year. If you migrate to 7.1 you can use the ARIS Toolset further, but I would recommend to use ARIS Business Architect indstaed because this is the state of the art tool. If you can change the licenses you should check with the responsible IDS sales representative.
