When trying to create a solution in Solution Manager 7.2 from ARIS 9.8 system, receiving a java.lang.NullPointerException.
Does anyone have an idea where the details of the log for the above error located?
I have tested URL defined in the configuration through a browser. And I was able to connect to Solution Manager.
Dear Vittal,
That is not sufficient information to help you. And for resolving a technical issue I strongly recommend to open a support ticket via Empower: https://empower.softwareag.com/eservice

Thank you Rune. I did open the support ticket via Empower. May be I not very clear on this. Let me explain in more detail.
In Aris Architect Tool, while trying to "create a solution" under Administration=>ARIS=>SAP=>Solutions Configurations (Solution Manager 7.2) => DS2_SOLMAN tab, I am receiving the generic error "java.lang.NullPointerException". I am trying to look for the reason this error is raised. I am assuming this error must be logged into some log file on the ARIS server (that runs ARIS processes). I could not find this information in any logs? I would like to know if anyone knew about the logs that would have error I mentioned about. If I can check the log, it can throw more light into what is causing it.
Any help would be appreciated.
thank you
We have dozens of log files in ARIS. And several components might be involved when triggering that function in ARIS Architect.
Have you checked that SolMan connection is working, besides other requirements and preparation work mentioned in ARIS Requirements for SAP and in ARIS - Process-driven Management for SAP?
After creating a solution you will be prompted for a SAP logon. If that fails, it's likely that you have not properly configured ARIS Server or ARIS Architect or the underlying Windows system with SAP JCo. The documents above help you to prepare your environment.

Rune,
I did verify the connectivity of Solution Manager system and also checked the requirements in the documents that you have mentioned.
Once I click the "create solution" I am prompted for the username/password of the solution manager system and then I receive the above mentioned error. I can connect to the solution manager GUI by using hte external facing URL
Using the same ARIS system, I am able to connect to another solution manager system. So I am confident that our Client configuration is good.
