If there is just ONE single thing ARIS is famous for : then it's the so-called EPC.
*** Raise your hand if you do not know the EPC ***
EPC stands for event-driven process chain and is one of the central modeling notation in ARIS. It integrates all relevant business perspectives, describes processes in detail on a procedural level and is embedded in the overall ARIS process landscape.
Still EPC is a very comprehensive modeling notation and requires an overview to get the most out of it. That's why we created an EPC cheat sheet.
The EPC cheat sheet includes:
- overview on the EPC core elements
- additional extended elements that are traditionally used to detail the pure process flow

Hi Mike,
thank you very much for commenting and sharing your thoughts. In fact, in ARIS, we interpret the role as a typification of individuals with identical responsibilities and privileges. Coming from that point of view, the "Accountant" is a role, while the "Head of Accounting" is the position.
Looking at the organizational structure, an org unit may include several roles and positions. Nevertheless, all organizational elements can be connected to a function in an EPC (RACI).
Best regards, Tom
Good to hear Michel, that the EPC cheat sheet is useful for you! For sure, there is also a BPMN Cheat Sheet.
Hi all,
can you maybe share the "word" file for it?
It would be handy to use the official version as the basis and then be able to modify it to individual needs. For example, we don't use the "S" connection as in supportive- and it might confuse our users if they see something in the sheet which is not available in the system (and reinventing the wheel is not much fun either). Also, it could be beneficial, if there's a need for translations which are not (yet?) covered.
Best,
Veronika
Hi Veronika,
that's a great suggestion. Unfortunately, it is not so trivial, because the basis of our cheat sheets is not a Word document, but a vector graphic. But we are working on a solution and will get back to you as soon as possible. In the meantime, we have replaced the old cheat sheet with the latest version.
Best regards and have a nice weekend,
Carolin
