Hi colleagues,
I've just found an issue it seems as when I import the .adf file in ARIS Cloud Architect it:
- creates empty model;
- no dialog like in ARIS Enterprise;
- it creates definitions but all of them are (Untitled)
Could you confirm?
In ARIS Enterprise the same model imports without any issue.
Regards,
Hi
Could you check your filter before to import the ARIS Express model ? maybe check if using Entire Method you can bring the information from the model. I did tests here using ARIS Cloud Advanced and also can import the Express model properly.. but I did using the web interface.

Hi,
The Entire method was used. In the web interface it 'works', as it imports everything in this old ARIS 7 times format, and you have to change all symbols manually... In ARIS Enterprise you have an option - to import .adf in the old weird template or in the ARIS 10 style.
So in the ARIS cloud, it does not work for desktop version and works inefficiently for the web.
Hi Alexander,
two time good news:
- we made a change that will make the import more robust, so the problem is gone.
- This fix will also help this issue in the XML import... there it might appear also.
One time bad news:
- this fix will not be available in SR 14, that you are using.
On the other hand side: you are able to get rid of this problem.
Let me brighten things up a bit:
- In ARIS Cloud Architect, the dialog actually exists and appears... as long as you do not click the "do not show extend configuration again". There is no difference.
- It also works fine if you choose "import ADF only" option.
- If you choose the "extend configuration" option in this dialog, during the import of this database session, no occurrences are created. But if you log out and log in again, and import again, it works.
So how can you solve this issue with the current installation?
- log out of all databases
- switch to the administration module, right click on the "configuration" node in the tree, and click the upcoming context menu entry "Import express configuration".
You can decide whether you want to merge filters... you can do this later on. - after importing express configuration, log in into the database and import ADF files again.
This should solve the problem.
About the untitled objects: the language handling is a bit tricky.
In case you import the files and you are logged in with the language of you models, then the objects will be maintained in this language. Unfortunatly, this is only german or english... otherwise, the objects will be created using the "alternative" language. Make sure this language is set up according your needs.
Bye,
Frank
Thank you, Frank!
Import works in ARIS Cloud Architect now. But the problem with this dialog:
- In ARIS Cloud Architect, the dialog actually exists and appears... as long as you do not click the "do not show extend configuration again". There is no difference.
- It also works fine if you choose "import ADF only" option
Is there any idea of returning this dialog, as I have no option for it, and I can swear that I had not switched it off.
I know about this option in ARIS Enterprise, so I was surprised that ARIS Cloud Architect did not ask about this option.
