Hi All,
Apart from ingesting data from external systems , does ARIS Rest API also have capability to auto update the BPM diagram , objects ,relationship and other metadata info ?
We would like to consume data directly from an external source system and once consumed ,it should be able to update the existing BPM diagram . Can this all be achieved with Aris RestAPI given that we have API license in place ?
Is there any other alternatives like Scripting, reporting feature that can auto update the BPM diagram/Repository please ?
Since the source data is very static, doesn't change overtime and a single source file with not more than 250 rows , having a API license will become too tech heavy(ROI) for this small requirement. Any suggestions around it , please ?

Hi,
Yes, the ARIS Repository API can update attributes and add objects and connections to an existing model. However, it has limitations for diagram updates, particularly around occurrences and layout, so I would check the exact changes you need before choosing it for this use case.
I would recommend having a custom ARIS report script which would do the auto updating of relevant attributes, connections and model occurrences. Any logic can be implemented using the report which can be scheduled to run, ingest the data from external systems and reflect the changes in ARIS Repository.
Since the source data is very static and doesn't change that often, I would go with this solution and schedule the report to run maybe once every day or similar.
Best regards,
Luka.
