"Use entire symbol surface for text placement" in ARIS Connect

Hi,

The web app does not have a feature to save your options locally. It would be cool if you could save them in your user account, but that is a question for SAG.

For the Desktop tools, all these options are saved in ARIS.cfg by this address C:\Users\<Your_user>\ARIS10\<Your_server>

on Connect there is a per tenant system property  designer.entire.symbol.surface.for.text=true 

Setting was done by Aris Cloud Support. If true it overrides the Architect option.

Thank you very much for your advice. I understood about ARIS Cloud. I would like ask you about not cloud version,  but about ARIS Connect. Do you know where can I turn on tenant system property  designer.entire.symbol.surface.for.text=true . Unfortunately I cannot find it in ARIS Server options..

Hello Anna,

to be on the safe side you should ask Aris Support for the appropriate way to enable this property. Anyway it is not accessable through the Connect Admin view.

What I found in earlier releases is based on this post about defaultServerSettings.cfg and ARIS Server Administrator command line tool

With arisadm started in interactive mode on your server (cf. help) you can try the following syntax:

set designer.entire.symbol.surface.for.text true

without the equal sign. It should activate the behaviour for new models without restarting the abs runnable.
Also it is said that the setting is saved in the system.db, but I am not sure if it will be overwritten by an update installation.
