I would ask what are you trying to assess ... the scope for improving an individual process (design/model) or the general capability of process management. If the latter then I find PEMM a useful tool - but I suspect that it would be difficult to build an assessment tool into ARIS as the effort to capture the information & insights would far out weigh the value from the assessment in terms of time & cost. I would just do it! If the former then you could go down the route of process mining if you have a "strong" data source or you can build desktop assessment of the effectiveness of a process design using Lean rules.

Other vendors do have a maturity implemented in their tools, like Signavio. I think that their implementation is actually pretty good. As far as I remember their maturity assessment is based on some scientific paper. So, it is also well-thought through. I would really love for ARIS to have such a thing in place, too. It could help to increase awareness and support an increase in process maturity.

I feel that the usage of ARIS could be promoted even better if a maturity assessment would be in place. This is information that can be nicely presented to management and if ARIS put some further thoughts to it, could could even derive (financial) benefits for why a company should aim to reach a higher maturity which would make it even more valuable to have it in place.
Also, one could combine it with some "basic" functions to promote the ARCM... but this is just my 2 cents. I hope that it will be implemented :)

Thank you, yes the latter = an overall. Yes, I will choose one of the popular ones, maybe ARIS knows those exist and why spend the effort if those are robust. I just wanted to ensure they did not have one, since they are leaders in this space. Would be advantageous for them, especially if processes in the repository can have attributes that can roll up to feed an assessment, etc.
