yes, this is intendet behavior. The "name" attribute is not more than a normal attribute. We just set the name of the attribute, if the user stores the file, so it has at least a value.
Example: you can give the ADF the filename 'Redefinement.adf', but use some semantical name, like:
Redefinement of "Delivery process"
You would not be able to use that name as file name (special characters)
