Hi Community,
I would like to seek some guidance regarding model migration between databases using an APG Workflow.
We have two databases in our ARIS environment, and I would like to migrate approved models from one database to another as part of the workflow.
Could you please confirm whether it is possible to achieve this using APG Workflow? If yes, I would appreciate it if you could guide me on the recommended approach or procedure for implementing this.
I would also be interested in understanding how the associated library objects are handled during the migration, particularly if the same objects already exist in the target database.
Any guidance or examples would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Kartik

Hello Kartik,
it really only depends on your requirements and the effort you put into the solution. When implementing your governance you should be very clear with yourself/your customer, who is approving what. So for the library objects there are different scenarios:
So from a methodical point of view you have to answer, what the deployment unit encompasses that is subject to the current approval.
If the library object is used, but not part of the current approval, there are some cases to distinguish
As for the implementation you will most likely implement the difficult logic in some report scripts that you call from your workflow.
In ARIS Professional Services we have built a configurable solution, where a lot of these decisions can be configured without digging into code any more.
