Hello,

Any plan to include "EPC Row display" (Swimlane) model in the final version of ARIS Express?

This is the standard in our Organisation to capture processes.

Thanks

Samuel.

Jens - That comment is around SIPOC only, not cross functional swimlanes.

Personally, I would like to see support for the simplified swimlane model, incorporating a tools lane to represent process support references.  (such as in Information Mapping methodology).  The model type is simplistic, so it would be nice to see it in Express as well as the full product.

Our organisation has many models in Visio using this representation, and it would be terrible if we could not port them cleanly to ARIS, and may be a deciding factor for product adoption.

Hi Thomas,

I think what you are describing is possible in the professional ARIS products, but just not in ARIS Express.

Hello Sebastian,

It's really unfortunate, since our understanding of ARIS Express intent, is to encourage the wide adoption of ARIS Platform.

If the tool doesn't support the most frequently used process model, the business community currently not using ARIS will be discouraged from using it and will look for an alternative.

I think the concept of ARIS express is a great idea but the current set of functionalities just makes it not as useful as it could be. It a lost of opportunity in our opinion.

Hi Samuel,

ARIS Express will support BPMN 2 later this year, which is a swimlane notation. I think you will be able to use it to represent your model content.

Sebastian

Hi all,

samuel,  like you,  i try to use "EPC Row display"  as an workaround to provide partition of processses models. This feature will be useful  when you want to use theses models(eg. when you want define Process RACI  matrix or process refactoring by realocating some steps to some process owners ) .

i totally agree with you, full support of EPC (and other models type of ARIS standards) must be an nice to have in Aris express, to give the oppurtunity  of Aris Express become an great levar of enterprise Aris platform adoption.

Meanwhile i suggest to wait bpmn2 support, and like you hope an "full support".

Regards

djebar
