MC

Hi,

I'm currently exploring Aris Cloud and its support for ArchiMate, and there are a few features that I would like to know if there is support for:

- Relating Objects to Relationships:  For example, can I relate a Data Object to a Flow Relationship?

- Impact Analysis: If I have 10 different models, and all of them with hundreds of objects and relationships, is there a way that I can explore all relationships?  For example, starting with an Application Component, is there a way to filter objects and relationships associated with it?

- Importing Models: I have ArchiMate models that I have created in different tools.  Is there a way to import those models into Aris Cloud?

Thank You.

Hi Marco,

I'm not expert in such Archimate Method but I could try to help :)

General

ArchiMate is a method extension with the model type "ArchiMate model", additional relationship types, a filter with renamed elements and user defined symbols, a template and example databases.

About these questions:

- Relating Objects to Relationships:  For example, can I relate a Data Object to a Flow Relationship?

A: I tried to do a test here using my ARIS and I have the Data Object but to use the 'Flow' relationship I need more information, in that case which object type have to be used in this case ? For example data object to a 'application fuction object'... when I could use the flow relationship.. I could do tests here if you provide these details.

- Impact Analysis: If I have 10 different models, and all of them with hundreds of objects and relationships, is there a way that I can explore all relationships?  For example, starting with an Application Component, is there a way to filter objects and relationships associated with it?

A: Hum.. in that case I think the report 'object information' can bring such information about all relationships and which models are included.

- Importing Models: I have ArchiMate models that I have created in different tools.  Is there a way to import those models into Aris Cloud?

A: Only ARIS Cloud Advanced support such feature to import information from others tools via Xml for example but to some tools an interface have to be customized before..
