Hi everyone!
I've got one strange question for Aris professionals=)
Is it possible in Aris to protect all objects within one folder from being assigned to objects from another folder.
We don't want in our project create several databases. We have one group of people with their own folder in which they work, they should have access to see objects from another folder but they shouldn't have an option to link them together.
Hope I made it clear, what i want=)
Hi,
well, what do you mean by "assigned"?
As you are talking about objects, your mean "connections", right?
For sure, you can solve this by assigning access rights in the corresponding groups. This would be - if you do not want to create different databases - the normal approach.
However, you can write a macro, which reacts on events like "connection created"...
Bye,
Frank
Hi!
Thank you a lot for your reply Frank!
Yeah, by "assigned" I meant the connections of objects.
But as I've tested access rights can't resolve my issue. Because if you give people access to read (not to write or delete) objects from a folder you want to protect they can connect created object with those from the folder (because system itself suggest connecting them if they are similar in names despite the fact that these suggested objects from the folder which is protected from being changed or deleted).
As for a macro...never tried it. Need to do some research for that option.
