Hi,
let's assume you've got 3 Objects: "A_new_master", "A_obsolete" and "B_another_object", whereas to "A_" objects are connected to "B_another_object".
If you consolidate the two "A_" objects, the option mentioned above decides how to proceed with those two connections. If you do not consolidate the multi-relationships, both connection will still exist, and the "A_new_master" will have two connections to "B_another_object" (at least, if the ARIS method allows to have two connections having that certain type).
