Even with te correct Java-Version it is not possible to install Aris Express on my PC.
The exception errors are always the same, and it doesn't matter whcih type of internet connection I choose for. It was tested with both settings Browser settings and direct connection. I also deleted the cache before using new settings. Teh result stays always the same, the installtion fails with an error.
The only difference is that , if I', using the browser settings, I recieve an additional error before: (Compiling error Microsoft JScript: ";" expected). Attached there are some screenshots to explain.
Is there any help possible for that problem?

Hi,
the browser is not the problem.
The JRE is not allowed to download the JNLP. There is no other possibility than checking with your IT department.
(We noticed the problem, that Microsoft Proxies, using NTLM breaks the download, maybe this is the problem, but your IT department needs to check this)

one thing you could try:
You are using a "pac" file for proxy configuration, right?
Please set "use browser settings" in your JRE and do not use the "pac" configuration, but set the proxy directly in your systems proxy settings.
FYI: the issue is described here, maybe your .pac file needs to be fixed: forums.sun.com/thread.jspa

my system environment is an ubuntu linux system with java 6 .. I've tried to install the ARIS Express Community Version but doesn't succeed any time.
The error message shows:
Have you an idea ?
The proxy settings in java and browser has configure to your manual ...

thanks for the hint. I was already expecting something like that (the lines taht says ressource cannot be loaded was of course obvious, but the rest was unclear), but I couldn't find something (although I tried google, but no useful pages could be found). I will have a chat with the IT department and will propose them to check. Let's see.

Dear all,
We're trying Aris Express as an alternative to MS Visio but we're facing problems with it's installation. First of all we have a heavy privileges policy on our WXP workstations. This not only prevents Aris Express install but even with Administrator privileges for it's install, after the privileges restored to the user, Aris Express can't start. I think that if we have an portable version of Aris Express it would be much simpler to our organisation to spread the application.
Does IDS have any portable version of it? Does plan to do it?
