Recently, the IEEE Task Force on process mining was founded that is focussed on the the topic of automatic process discovery. This topic recently gained more and more attention by research, customers, vendors and analysts. The goal of this task force is to promote the research, development, education and understanding of process mining. As member of this task force I will follow current research topics as well as provide real-world challanges related to automatic process discovery, e.g, how to deal efficiently with millions on events and process instances. This will help to improve the automatic process discovery features that are available in ARIS PPM from the very beginning.
