Dears, hello
I have a case where designers has created bpmn process maps with incorrect symbol in the Pool - Lane instead of Role Lane.
So a Lane type of object has been created, as designer coudl not link a specific Role from the Library.
Question - if a pool with LANE is already created and it has process mapped on, can I as an admin or can a developer "change" this Lane into Role Lane? Without need to move objects around or do anything elce wiht adjusting the map?

Hello,
The main issue is that Lane and Role Lane are based on different object types in ARIS. Therefore, it is not possible simply to change the symbol of an existing Lane occurrence into a Role Lane.
In theory, this could be automated with a custom script that replaces the Lane with the corresponding Role Lane while preserving the model layout and the objects placed inside it. However, Enterprise BPMN Collaboration Diagrams have rather specific model structures, and I am not aware of any standard ARIS script that performs this conversion.
The most important measure is to prevent this situation from occurring again. The regular Lane object should be restricted or removed from the designers’ method filter so that only Role Lanes are available for modeling.
For existing models, replacing the Lane manually should normally not be a major task. It is also unlikely that designers have created many separate occurrences of the same regular Lane object, so the amount of manual correction should be manageable.
