Windows 10 compatibility

Hi, Downloaded Aris Express today and installed with no problems.

Tried to open the program, and only gets to first screen " Aris Platform " and then close and no further progress thereafter. I tried running the program in compatibility mode and still no joy.

Please could you assist

could you attach the content of "%userprofile%/ARISExpress/log" at your post? I can have a look.

There is a folder ArisExpress but with no documents, no log files.

Hi,

do you have admin rights and/or write access to that location?

Express would need to extract some files there.

Hi Frank!

I have a same problem on Windows 10 with running Express under admin account. Folder %userprofile%\ARISExpress is empty

Hi, I am trying to install Aris Express on my laptop with Windows 10 OS and the InstallShield wizard failed with an error (screenshot attached). I am using an Admin account for the installation. Please help. Thanks.

@Suman: you did not attach a screenshot.

@the others: did you try to install the web version? (the jnlp one) Is it working? If not, what's in the java console?

Hi Frank,

I attached the screenshot of the installation error. I tried to install again on my laptop running on Windows 10 and have got the same error. It would be great if you can take a look at the error message and let me know how this can be resolved. Thanks.

Hi,

seems that there is an error in the installation software (an external tool) which we are using. It looks like as if there is a certain percentage of machines, where the installation failes... We have hundreds of installations per day, and the amounts of error message regarding the installation is rather slow. Also on our internal tests on Windows 10, the error did not occur.

If that installation does not work on your machine, you should use the webstart alternative.

I do have the same Problem. Pointing to the external tool does not realy help, either.

Do you have any suggestions what I can do?

I was able to download AE 2.4 and install on WIndows 10 pro, but it was crashing MS Edge.

Hey,

I had the very same issue as the OP. I installed the latest ARIS Express version (2.4b) on a Windows 10 machine. The installer went through just fine, but when I start ARIS Express via the start menu it shows the splash screen (ARIS Platform) and then exits. Nothing further happens.

I was able to solve that problem by starting ARIS Express as administrator (right click in the start menu -> More -> Start as Administrator). AE then starts just fine.
