Place object

You can place objects in the model window using the modeling toolbar.

Procedure

1. Click on the relevant object symbol in the modeling toolbar.
2. If you want to use the default size of the object: click on the position in the model window where you would like to place the object.
   If you want to determine the size of the object yourself: click on the position in the model window where you would like to place the object, hold down the mouse button, change the size of the object by dragging the mouse pointer, and release the mouse button once the object has the required size. By pressing the Ctrl key while dragging, the proportions of the object are retained; by pressing the Alt key, the set grid is canceled.
3. Enter the desired name.
4. After you have entered a name, click outside the object.

If you set a grid, the object symbol will be placed according to the grid width.

Tip

You can use the Mini toolbar or the Create object dialog to create and place objects. The Mini toolbar is useful if you want to create a connection at the same time as placing objects. If, on the other hand, you want to create and place several objects quickly, use the Create objects dialog.
