Place objects multiple times
You can quickly place multiple objects of the same type in the modeling area.
Procedure
- To connect new objects with an existing object, select the source object in the model window. To create objects that are not connected, make sure that no objects are selected.
- In the modeling toolbar, click on the symbol you want to place multiple times.
- Hold down the Ctrl key.
- Click on the positions where you want to place the objects one after the other.
- Release the Ctrl key.
- Click on the objects one after the other, press F2, and enter the desired names.
A new object definition will be created for each object.
If you selected an existing object when placing the objects, where you place the first object determines what relationships will be attached to the target objects. If you place objects above the source object, relationships will be attached to the bottom of the target objects; if you place objects below the source object, relationships will be attached to the top of the target objects. The same procedure is followed with right and left placements.
Example
You want to place five organizational units to the right of an activity. Place the first organizational unit to the right of the activity and then place the remaining organizational units above and to the right, and below and to the right of the activity.
