I am currently working on my thesis. I want to connect ARIS Architect with SAP Solution Manager. I currently use the ARIS Education Package (Single User) with the extension packs: ARIS UML Designer and ARIS Simulation. Can I connect ARIS with SAP Solution Manager with this Education Package? If not, will I need a license or an extension pack for that purpose? Or is it possible, that I need the extension pack "ARIS for SAP®Solutions"?

Hi Anja,
unfortunately you cannot connect ARIS Architect to SAP SolMan when using LOCAL. To do so, you would need to have an installtion of ARIS Design Server and its clients.

thank you for the answer.
My faculty uses the ARIS Education Package (Multi User). The faculty uses in addition to that the ARIS Connect Server with Download Clients. The Server is a Windows Server 2012 R2 with 64 Bit. The Clients use Windows 7 and have 32 Bit. We tried to connect ARIS and SolMan via the ARIS Server Installation and Administration Guide and we worked through points 5.7.3. and 5.7.4.. But we cannot connect with SAP Solution Manager. In the Documentation it is described, that you can access the "sap tab" after completing step 5.7.4 in ARIS options. But this tab is not available. Do we really need the Design Server or is there another option to connect ARIS with SolMan?

Dear Anja,
Did you check that your current ARIS user account has assigned the necessary license ARIS Architect Extension Pack SAP? If that is missing, ARIS Architect won't show the tab "SAP Solutions" visible for that particular user.
Also, check whether the perspective for that user account includes "Process-driven Management.for SAP Solutions" (via Architect menu/Select perspective...).
