Hello Ankita,
this feature is only available when you are using ARIS IT Architect of ARIS IT Designer as you want to document a specific EA topic (application interraction and subsequent data flows.
Hi thanks for the replies. I did try the IT architect but even there, I could not assign on connections.
Surprisingly this is the approach shown for modelling system interactions on the ARIS IT Architect manual. I wonder how they have shown this when it is not doable.

Ankita
Hi Ankita,
you have to use the connection type "transmits data to" in order to be able to create an assignement and drill down into a more detailled level of your data flow.
On step 9 of the filter wizard, if you have selected the relevant model types and connection types, you should be able to setup this assignment for the connection "transmits data to".
Hello
I've created a Progress Flow Chart model in IT Designer and placed a Transmits Data To connection between two Application System Objects. On the connection object I've created an assignment to a Progress Flow Chart model.
When I try and publish to Aris Business Publisher, the assignment on the connection object isn't being displayed.
When performing the merge between the databases, I use Entire Method. After the merge I update the Aris Business Publisher from the Publish database, but upon viewing the content in Aris Business Publisher, the assignment on the connection object is not visible.
Does anyone perhaps know what I could be doing incorrectly.
Thanks merrick

You can't add assignments to connections. This need comes up from time to time, but discussions always show that in the end it is not very practical, because you can't easily reuse connections.
