Did anybody use Variant models /copies in ARIS and synchronize with Solution Manager? If so, can you please let me know if you had any issues or drawbacks with it? Thank you.

Hi,
Yes, we had tried Variant models for ARIS Syncronization but it didn't work. After syncronization SAP processes come with a unique SAP ID. Event if we create a variant of the process, the ID remains the same for the variant process as well.
If we create a Variant copy & then try pushing data to/fro from Sol'Man, it gives error, coz it recognizes 2 processes with unique SAP ID.

You can delete the SAP ID on the variant (model and associated objects) and the sync should accept it and give new SAP IDs to the variants.......may want to adjust the name of the new variant though to tell it apart from the original.
