Hello there.

I’m devolping a PoC using Aris and I’m trying to connect an DMS Alfresco via Entropysoft to the Aris product.

By now, I have the Alfresco connected to Entropysoft via Alfresco connector 3.7.156 and all alfresco repositories are available in my entropysoft content federation, but no connection to Aris.

Can you tell me what documentation can I consult or how to get this job done ?

Thank you.

Hi Bruno,

you can find detailed installation and deployment guides at two sources:

  1. Detailed documents describing which configuration files, etc have to be adapted can be found on the aris dvd under Addons/DMSIntegration/Documents/Misc. Have a look at the Installation and Deployment Guide.doc.
  2. The configuration of the aris clients can also be found in the aris help. Open Manage/Configure a document mangemente link/Procedure/Configure document management system or use the Index tab and search for Document management system link.

Thanks for the response.

The true is that I don't really find how to connect the Entropysoft that is a connector between my DMS, the Alfresco and Aris via Entropysoft.

I get the connection to Entropysoft but the dificulty is between the Aris and the Entropysoft.

Even in the refered documentation / help I can't find anything about it.

Someone ever done it ?

Thank you.

You have your configuration file properly set up, meaning that you've entered a valid IP address and key?

This file has been placed in configuration directory of Business Server before its start?

And finally, you switched the tag dmsintegration to on in userServerSettings.cfg in configuration directory of Business Server?

The DMS configured at CFS are enabled?

If so, you will set all DMS configured via CFS in the wizard started from the DMS administration node where you can set symbolic names for them to be used for linking in models.

Hello Jürgen, thanks for your response.

Can you tell me were I can find the configuration file to enter the valid IP and key ? What you mean by key ? By the way, the tag dmsintegration is turned on in the userServerSettings.cfg file.

The DMS is correctly configured in the DMS and enabled. I think that what is missing is that file that you name in the beginning of this reply. Once more, where I can find the file ?

Thanks once again. Bruno

Please refer to those documents you can find on your DVD:

~\Addons\DMSIntegration\Documents\Misc\Installation and Deployment Guide.doc

~\Addons\DMSIntegration\Documents\Misc\CR Module Configuration Guide.doc

There you can find a detailed description of the configuration file for DMS integration 'SpringCRModule.xml' and how to get the whole system working.

You should have it at directory ~\Server\config of your ARIS installation directory.

DMS integration is a product with additional costs! As you want to run Alfresco, you need a special Alfresco key to enter in SpringCRModule.xml. Please contact the colleagues that also provided you with the ARIS key.

Best regards,

Dear Colleagues!

Sorry for asking my "how to connect ARIS through Entropysoft CFS to Opentext Livelink", but since I see that You have the experience here I try it also:

we installed what necessary,CFS working fine, things are enabled.

however i can not see livelink in ARIS.

I guess we have problem with the configuration of the SpringCRModule xml file.

I have it on the right place (localser/config) - i use business architect, no ARIS server for this test system - I guess it is not a problem...?

I changed the  ESServerUrl (i tried it with localhost and with valid IP address also),

I changed the ESServerLogin and ESServerPassword according to the system,

I even tried to change or not change the ESServerDomain according to the system.

I requested keys from orders (I requested a key for Opentext LiveLink), i received two keys, I tried both of them.

Still we do not see LiveLink in ARIS.

Do You have any idea?

thank You very much, Tamás

Did you enable DMS integration for ABA?

Cite from Installation Checklist document:

On ARIS Business Server side, open the file server\config\userServerSettings.cfg and add the line <dmsintegration state="on" /> which enables DMS integration.

In reply to by a0013847

we set dmsintegration on, and we saw the basic dms systems (I mean the systems that was named as default in the spring....xml)

However later I commented these entries since I am interested in Opentext LiveLink.

so in my spring xml every standard is commented, no new line added, and new keys are added like this - I deleted the keys for this message.

        <!--    <value>Alfresco RMI</value>

                <value>Jackrabbit Transient</value>

                <value>Jackrabbit Configured</value>

                <value>Jackrabbit Showcase</value>   -->

        <!-- Enter the key for providers in this list. -->

        <property name="keys">

                <!-- <value></value> -->

                <!-- To be extended as appropriate ... -->

thank You very much, br Tamás

Two things are wrong:

1) The list is not correctly commented out. Do it this way:

<property name="configurationNamesOfConfigurableProviders">

<!--<value>Alfresco RMI</value>-->

<!--<value>Jackrabbit Transient</value>-->

<!--<value>Jackrabbit Configured</value>-->

<!--<value>Jackrabbit Showcase</value>-->

2) Do not add entries for other systems like LiveLink. These systems are recognized out-of-the-box by CFS. The entries above are only applied to JCR-based systems and therefore, not of interest here.

In reply to by Daniela de Sou…

Thank You very much again.

Now I guess I have two options for problem left:

either the connection to CFS, or the keys I received.

We set the connection to CFS like this:

       <property name="ESServerURL" value=""/>

        <!-- Leave these values unchanged. -->

        <property name="ESServerLogin" value="Admin"/>

        <property name="ESServerPassword" value=""/>

        <property name="ESServerDomain" value=""/>

the Domain I tried both ways (empty, or "entropysoft" - as I see it on the "webtop") - well not exactly, now as I wanted to check the link again, i see that the url is working 2 ways.

either as i wrote into the spring xml and with an additional /ses like this:

    <property name="ESServerURL" value=>

but still not working.

the key could be the other issue.

Any idea?

thank You very much again. Br tamás

OK, now things become clearer.

You have to specify the 'URL' of the server like this, not the URL of the webtop application:

<property name="ESServerURL" value=""/>

I admit the property naming is kind of confusing. But have a look at the cite from Module Configuration Guide:

3.2 SpringCRModule.xml

Information about connection to CFS, preconfigured providers and ARIS key data is collected here. For getting access to the Entropysoft server, these settings must be customized.

3.2.1 IP address of the hosting server

The IP address of the hosting server must be entered. All other values for login on CFS remain unaffected assuming that all default values proposed during installation of the CFS have been used.

Hope that helps.

many many thanks.

Shame on me, after i checked the module config guide again - based on Your guidance I really saw that the ip adress must be there - however for first sight the comments where so clear that I skipped this part from the documentation..

so i happily announce that now I see the livelink from ARIS ;)

thank You again. br tamás

Hello, we are trying to integrate Open Text Livelink with Aris Server as well.

I do not quite understand what key should be entered in SpringCRModule.xml.

We bought license for Aris Business Server, and we have Livelink. So, where do I get the key? Is it something that has to be bought from IDS Scheer?

Yes, You need a separate license key for ARIS to be able to use DMS adapter.

You can purchase it from the relevant Software AG subsidiary.

Hi Di,

Please be aware that you have to take additional steps to get the DMS integration running.

Refer to our elaborated documentation and other ressources being available on our download server.

Before trying, get yourself informed with all necessary details.

Or just leave everything to our field supporting colleagues who have been trained for that. This is the standard procedure to enable ARIS DMS integration. They will explain all necessary details to our customers and ensure everything is running properly.

For that, ARIS R&D is neither responsible nor to be used getting special installations running but only field support is.

Best regards

Oh, I see. Thank you very much for the replies.

We will be contacting software AG in this matter.
