Hi Community,
My client has asked me to import the ARIS Connect Governance Models database (Name: ARIS Connect Governance Models.adb) into their new v9.7 ARIS Connect Server in order to evaluate the standard governance processes that are enabled in ARIS Connect Server (i.e. the predefined governance processes in Connect, not the full APG product). The database is supplied in the 'Content' area of the installation media.
However, a number of the symbols used in these models seem to be missing on my server. Many appear as greyed out and are inaccessible (cannot select them, or view attributes, etc) similar to how objects appear when they are not included in the method filter used to open the database. However, I am using the 'Entire Method' filter to open the database, so I would expect these objects to be accessible under this filter which is supposed to give access to all model content (objects / connection types / ... ).
Can anyone suggest why I might not be able to see these objects in my system? My obvious conclusion is that they contain APG specific objects that don't exist in ARIS Connect Server by default, but as these models describe standard ARIS Connect behavior, these objects should exist (or be provided as part of the database).
Many Thanks,
Ben

Dear Ben,
First of all, the so called mini workflows which are embedded in ARIS Connect Server are NOT part of the ARIS database "Governance Automation Models.adb" (GAM) but reside in "ARIS Connect Governance Models.adb", both databases are provided on the ARIS 9 DVD in folder ./Content/Databases.
The workflows in the GAM database require an additiona license: Extension Pack Process Governance for ARIS Connect Server. And for changing and adapting these workflows you need another client license: Extension Pack Process Governance for ARIS Architect. Otherwise you can't deploy these workflows and neither can view/model in ARIS Architect.
Also, the workflows provided in the GAM database may require some adjustment for being used in ARIS Connect Server. However, the pre-built mini workflows in ARIS Connect Server are already deployed with the installation and work well from scratch, e.g. using our sample database "United Motor Group", where the model attribute "Person resonsible" is for most models maintained, a prerequisite for mini workflows such as Change Request.
Cheers
