Finding the right information quickly and efficiently is crucial for productivity and decision-making. Therefore, we're excited to introduce new search filter options designed to empower end users who are browsing published ARIS contents, and to give greater control for their search needs.
Precision at Your Fingertips
First of all, it is important to know that the default set of available search filter options in ARIS 10 SR26 has been reduced to show a "best practice" quantity that we know most of our customers are using. Obviously, it is oriented along the views and dimensions of the ARIS house, which many hopefully still know and remember. As a result, our most commonly used content types have been pre-selected and narrow down the search filter options to 32 items.
If this still is too much choice for your end users, or if you simply want to exclude some specific item types as filter criteria, then this blog post is for you!
How to set this up (in less than 5 minutes)
Let's assume that you want to remove "events" and maybe some other content types from the search filters, there is a UI ready for the ARIS Portal Administrator where you can do so. It is also possible to add other elements of course. In order to do so, simply go to the Administration part and open your active content type configuration.
There you will find a new entry called "Published content" search
Simply select or deselect all the content types that you wish to either include or exclude from the search and make sure to synchronize with the "Published content". Once this step is done, the search index is refreshed and search filters options adjusted to the choices. The same capability is available for the properties as well.
Individual content types can be given a higher or lower rank, if necessary to push or booster certain contents to the top or bottom of end user's search result list.
In summary you see, the improved search filter options give a tremendous amount of freedom and flexibility to the ARIS Portal Administrator, but give focus to the end users as these new search filter options are designed to make the search process more efficient and tailored to individual needs. And by providing greater control over search functionality, we aim to enhance productivity and ensure that the right information is always just a few clicks away.
