I need to archive models/objects in ARIS that are not longer in use. Objects and models are "old" and needs to be removed from AS-IS, we are mostly talking about VAC and EPC and certain objects within the models. I still need to be able to extract them if someone wants to see them. Have anyone archived models like this before?
I was thinking of moving the models to a different database, but then another problem arise. What happens if you import objects that alredy exists in the target database? Can it create occurence copies of the objects that are about to be archived if they allready exists in the target database? Objects will probably have changed a bit between archive model 1 and archive model 2. Lets say you archive a model 1 with object 1 now, and then in 6 months you archive a model 2 with object 1, but then object 1 got a new defintion? If you merge the object the two models won't be correct.
Another way of thinking is to leave them in the same database but in a different folder and set an attribute that shows its archived.
What is the best way to do this? What other things do I need to consider when I want to archive models etc?
