A few weeks ago, I gave you some insight into the ARIS User Group in France – the French Club Utilisateurs ARIS. If you look across the Atlantic Ocean, you will find the ARIS User Group for the North American continent which was established in July 2004 and is still being led by its founding chairperson, Deb Boykin of Wyeth Pharmaceuticals. With over 150 members, the user group has been very active in sharing best practices and exchanging lessons learned around Business Process Management (BPM) with ARIS.
In order to increase the communication and collaboration among the members, IDS Scheer has supported the user group with a portal which launched in summer 2008.
The site provides the latest event schedule of meetings and Web sessions, the latest product updates and service patches as well as useful links to ARIS support & training. A key feature is the forum area which allows users to search on topics by ARIS product area as well as post questions/inquiries by ARIS solution area. More than 100 members are currently registered for portal. I
n 2008, the users have been leveraging in-person meetings which are regional, one-day events. These meetings are a unique opportunity to network with a focused group of users, listen to ARIS case study presentations and learn about the latest ARIS product developments.
The next regional user group meeting has already been confirmed for January 21, 2009 and will be hosted at Arrow Electronics in Itasca, IL. Case studies will be presented by Kraft, Whirlpool and DOW with a lunch and learn session on how to use ARIS for Supply Chain Performance Assurance. The North American ARIS User Group met at ARIS ProcessWorld’08 in Orlando, FL. Karl Wagner, Director of ARIS Development, joined the meeting to deliver the latest ARIS strategies and product roadmap as well as gather product feedback from the customers."
In July 2008, Owens Corning hosted a regional ARIS User Group Meeting at its company headquarters in Toledo, OH (see below).
