Data exchange between ARIS 7.2 and ARIS 9.x

Hi,

I'm new to the community and I hope that you guys can help me. I'm a freelance consultant and would like to use the ARIS Business Architect in my future projects. But before taking the decision I have a question regarding data compatibility between ARIS 7.2 and ARIS 9.x. I have been looking in the forum and all over the internet but have not found a satisfying answer to my problem.

Is it possible to exchange data between those version without any major issues. Can I import 7.2 databases in ARIS 9.x and vice-versa?

Anyone who can help me with this?

Dear Christian,

an ARIS database exported in 7.2 can be restored in 9.0/9.5.

But a database in ARIS 9.0/9.5 can NOT be transferred backwards to 7.x. [edited]

So whatever you are now modeling with ARIS Business Architect 7.2 can be for sure used in ARIS Architect 9.0, or most recent ARIS Architect 9.5.

Thanks for the quick reply. Just one follow up question regarding ARIS 9.x --> 7.x.

Is it possible to transfer a 9.x database back to 7.x or not? Your answer starting with "But" is a bit confusing for me.

Hi Christian,

I think this was a typo. Migrating from 7.2 to 9.x is possible, but not vice versa.

That's not feasible.

Thanks for your response.

For example，Company A uses the ARIS 7 data，but its subsidiary uses the ARIS 9 data.

I want to make the Company A and its subsidiary data can exchange each other.
