The ARIS family of software tools also includes a GRC tool (see Software AG website).

From the Software AG website I found out that GRC means Governance, Risk, and Compliance. https://www.softwareag.com/en_corporate/resources/process-management/article/governance-risk-compliance.html I understand the general idea, but I would love to see an example of this as a use case with actual steps taken in ARIS Connect using this tool. Unfortunately, this tool is not included as part of the free trial, so it would be nice to see how others use it. Thank you

The article refers to GRC as special software, that is not part of ARIS Connect/Advanced. I have no experience with this software.

But what you have in ARIS Advanced/Connect:

  1. See the risc diagram as model type
  2. See various functionality of governance regarding process modeling
  3. See BPMN attributes to document and catagorize risks and possible solutions

I don't see a risk model type in the trial environment. Maybe some model types were left out of that environment? Can you attach a screenshot of that selection? So just because I've included risks as attributes in my processes it's considered GRC? When I view the menu (see screenshot) I can't help but feel like there is more to it?

That is a link ("switch to") to the GRC software package I mentioned before. As far as I know this is not part of the trial.

What you can do with ARIS Advanced I tried to explain. See below the Risk diagram:

Thanks. I don't have a Risk diagram option or several of the other options in your screenshot....but good to know that they exist.

You are using ARIS Advanced, right?

You should check what database filter (method filter) is assigned to your database doing rigth click on the database name in the explorer. Then you get different options und you should choose "entire method" to get all modell types
