Product Differentiation Aris

Dear Aris-team, dear community,

I am quite new to the Aris world and somehow I am still a bit struggling in understanding the difference between the Aris products.

Can anyone explain me, what is the difference between:

ARIS 10
Aris Connect
Aris Cloud

Am I mixing things up here? Are those different products or "just" evolutions? Do I need Aris Connect for Aris 10?

Are these all cloud solutions, where I can use different components like e.g. Mashup, Aris Aware and Aris PPM (still did not really get the difference between those components neither)?

I already did some research, but some documents are from 2017 and I am not sure, if I fully understood the difference between them.

Thank you for your interest in ARIS, especially in our Process Mining and Analysis components.

Please let me shed some light on the different products.

ARIS Process Performance Manager (PPM) is our Process Mining platform that can extract process data directly from your application systems such as SAP ® and uses this data e.g. for process discovery (i.e. reconstruction of the actual process flow), process conformance checks (based on process models in ARIS) or calculating process measures and KPIs. PPM features a flexible ad-hoc analysis interface that typically meets the needs of experts in process analytics. Currently, the most typical deployment scenario is on-premise, but you can also host it in the Cloud. We are about to release a pre-built Cloud image in the AWS marketplace this summer.

On top of ARIS PPM you can use our dashboard tools ARIS Aware OR MashZone NextGen as powerful analysis dashboards that are perfectly tailored to the needs of the line of business, such as process owners. ARIS Aware is particular suitable if you want to analyze process mining results in relation to process models and other assets in your ARIS Connect portal, which is realized due to its tight integration. MashZone NextGen offers the same dashboard technology, but is designed for use as a standalone dashboarding tool.

ARIS 10 is the current major release of the ARIS platform.

ARIS Connect is the web client interface of the ARIS platform. It is provided by the ARIS Server.

ARIS Cloud is a subscription service, where you use an ARIS Connect tenant hosted by Software AG. You don't need to install anything on-premise. https://www.ariscloud.com

If you can use ARIS Aware (which is an add-on to ARIS Connect since ARIS 10) in ARIS Cloud depends on the subscription you chose.

ARIS PPM is another product used to measure and analyze your live production data. Typically this cannot be done in a third-party cloud environment, hence you probably want to use it on-premise.

So, in other words, if I want to use PPM for example, I cannot use it in the cloud but only on-premise, right?

Do I need ARIS Aware or ARIS MashZone (or anything else) for designing my Dashboards within PPM then, or can I use PPM independent of other ARIS compenents?
