We've recently adopted APG and are now using it in anger to promote models through to a Live Environment and pass ownership of the models to the Business.
My issue relates to the reporting that you are able to extract from APG. I'm a Super User responsible for a group of modelers who are processing models through APG to secure Model Owner sign off, however there appears to be little MI that I'm able to obtain about where in the APG process the individual models are and whose "inboxes" they are (stuck) in! It makes it very difficult to report progress back to the modelers, Model Owners and importantly the PMO. Our Centre of Excellence are also at a loss to give me quality detail from the tool.
In comparison we are using the Change Management Attributes of: In Process, Last Change, Released, Completed, To Be Revised; to fully track the modeling of the model and it is only when a model is Complete do we process it through APG. So I can be very exact where in the modeling process any of my 500 EPCs are - but once it enters APG it is liked they have entered a black box!
I believe that the CR no and a status is applied to a model at the point the Model Owner receives the model to approve or reject and this info I can pull from ARIS using an attribute search. I would have thought that the earlier APG stages could also be flagged in ARIS as attributes along with Event dates+times and the narratives that are entered into APG?
Is this an issue that you have encountered and resolved and if so how? Are their alternative ways of getting progress histories from APG perhaps using MashZone or PPM.
Too reiterate, I'd like too obtain information that tells me, what models are in APG, its status history, when it reached that status, who triggered that status, the narrative that was entered, whose responsible for the next action, in real time and in excel, whereby I can pivot that detail and pick out those models where their is an issue - typically the APG task request is being ignored!
Thanks Darren
