I expected to be able to create a true "twin" of an object, one that will stay updated as I change the attributes of the parent (or any instance). That does not seem to be possible in AE. Am I missing something?
In ARIS we don't name them "duplicates" but object definition and object occurrance. While an object definition exists only once, it could have any number of (object) occurrences. And only object occurrences appear in models in various shapes/symbols, while object definitions reside in a group.
An analogy to definition/occurence could be files and shortcuts on a computer. A file (=definition) is unique and resides in a specific folder, while it could have many shortcuts (=occurrences) pointing to it, each shortcut with a customized icon (symbol).
Bottom line: Commercial ARIS works on a repository/database, containing models, objects etc. meant to be reused, whereas ARIS Express creates for each model a file, and places each object as unique graphical object.

You may notice it has been six years since I asked this question! I have retired since then, but now I want to get back to modling processes using EPCs especially..I used commercial ARIS at my former employer, so i am familiar with the concept of "occurances" versus copies. I assume that within an EPC model I may reference an object multiple times. Does this include models with multiple views, such as drill-downs or sub-event views in an EPC?
