I've encountered an unusual situation and wanted to know if any of you have seen the same and resolved the issue. I am using ARIS 9.7.0 and have three object definitions identified in 'Locked items' which will not admin unlock. A message tells me the object is locked by a model, yet there are not models locked in the database.
As a result, several database operations are not possible (i.e., merging models from another db). I have tried creating a db backup and restored with no success. These objects cannot be deleted and re-created. I have tried to create another object then consolidate with the older object with no success.
I am seeing a message referring to the object being "permanently locked". Does this refer to having the object in a state for which unlocking cannot be accomplished??
Hi Dave!
We experienced something like that, when user did not log-out or the network connection was lost the model currently open was permanently locked and it was not possible to use the admin unlock for that.
To get the model open again we had to check on the server for the particular user and use the server function kill session.
The way to make a backup and restore it worked for us also but as I remember try to rename it as something different when importing it again otherwise it will be still locked.
Note when we updated ARIS to version 98.2 this errors did not occur again.
I hope that helped.
