Hi,
when I try to download ARIS Express, I can see a couple of windows poping up and then ARIS Express starts, however, nothing was downloaded nor installed on my PC.

ARIS Express starts......means you are able to see ARIS Express home page..???
ARIS Express is a Java Web Start application and it is executed from Java Cache only.
Are you able to see ARIS Express Shortcut on your desktop?

When I press the Download button on the ARIS Express community
homepage, it doesn't download, but start the ARIS Express application.
I can then develop models and save them on my desktop.
However, nothing is downloaded and I don't have a ARIS Express
shortcut on my desktop.
I always have to go the internet hompage of ARIS Express to start the
application by pressing the download button. This however means, that
I can only work with ARIS Express, when beeing connected to the
Internet.

Hi,
the fact, that Express is started directly shows that Express is actually installed (otherwise, starting would take a few minutes).
I do not know why no shortcut is created, but here is a way how to create it (I assume, you use Windows):
- Open system panel, and choose "Java"
- On the first page of the appearing dialog, you got a section (below) about Temporary Internet files (not a good name chosen by Sun: this cache contains the WebStart applications).
- Click the button to show the applications (the right button)
- A list of all WebStart applications is shown. You should find Express here.
- Right click onto "Express" and choose "create shortcut" from the context menu.

thanks a lot. I was able to find Express in the WebStart application list and also to install the shortcut.
Works fine now.
