Yes, all of the standard functionality seems to work with requirements. You can select a set of existing requirements and run the Process Generator macro. Update the Requirements and bring them back into ARIS. You may also run the Process Generator macro against a group and when you get the blank objects table double click on the header that says Function and scroll through till you find Requirement and select it. After answering the prompts you will be on your way. You can double-click in the header of any of the blank columns and add attributes you wish to be able to update. When you are done select the Synchronize button in the PG toolbar and save the model. Then you can import it back into ARIS using the import from PG macro. All requirements will be added/updated from changes in the spreadsheet. If you want a model with the requirements you will need to copy and paste them into a model or generate a model. Connectons you will have to create on your own.
Hi Rick,
I can't get Process Generator to work with Requirements objects. In an empty object table, if I double click the header I do get the list of objects but Requirement isn't one of them. Similary, if I run Process Generator against a set of Requirement objects in our database, all I get is a blank object table with a header of 'Function'.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Megan
I have just installed the most recent version of ARIS 7.1 so maybe this is something that has been fixed recently? Other than that, make sure you are logged in with the Entire Method, but if you can see the Requirements objects to select them that probably is not the issue as they must be included in your method filter. Otherwise you should report this to the support team.
Thanks Rick. We are currently involved in the latest update of ARIS rolled out across the business.
Russell.
Hi Russel, Megan
You can use the Excel Import Report to import Requirements and build a requirements tree - its a better approach if you are doing a one-off build. Drop me a mail if you need more info.
