Hello
Is there an easy way for converting ARIS Express objects to look like the model was created in ARIS Business Designer once imported to ARIS Enterprise?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Russell.
You can apply one of default templates to your model (in the menu "Format -> Apply template...").
If you don't like default set of templates I would suggest to create your own template in which you can define appearance of all objects, connections, attributes that you use.
Hi Nikita
Thanks for this information. We already make use of the 'template' functionality and have one set up to support our conventions. I have applied it to the Express objects and nothing seems to have changed. Any thoughts?
Russell.
Hello Russell,
I understood that you have imported ARIS Express objects into ARIS Enterprise version. How is it possible to do that?
Any help would be appreciated.
Patrick.
Hi Patrick
Although I do not do this personally myself, it is easy enough to complete. You need to save the Express model as an ADF file then import to Enterprise as the same type of file. there will need to be some work completed to change the look and feel of the objects from Express to Enterprise as they differ from each other. This would be done by applying a template.
Hope this helps.

Hello Russell,
layout templates applied to models in ABArchitect/Designer work cumulative. So if your template does not override any property of an AExpress object it seems to be doing nothing. First step should be to apply the template "Reset everything".
Are the object types of your imported Express models the same as in your Architect repository? Please see here

Afternoon Martin.
Many thanks for your response. I have applied the 'Reset' template and nothing has happended. I think we may need to complete some analysis to ensure that objects used within Express and Enterprise align.
Kind regards
Russell.
Hi Russell.
I think i figured out what caused this kind of problem. Did you import the ARIS Express method filter to ARIS Server? In case you did this, open "Administration" tab in Business Architect and take a look at "Configuration -> Method -> Symbols" option. You'll see that there are new user-defined symbols that used in ARIS Express.
Then if you open your imported model and take a look at "Object appearance" properties you'll see that object occurences use the same user-defined symbols from ARIS Express.
You can add those new symbols to your template and customize its looks.
But I would suggest you to delete those user-defined symbols from method configuration (I did this already : ) ). Then apply your template, and then select all objects on the model and in "Object appearance" properties uncheck "3-D effect" option. And then your object s will look like the model was created in ARIS BD.
Hope it will help.
Nikita.
Nikita
Thanks for your advice on this. Apologies for the delay in responding to you.
