I have some users who hae used the ARIS Connect comment feature to make notes on models. I have a few functionality questions:
1) Do comments stay with the model if the model is copied?
2) When the model is approved through the Governance process, are the comments visible in the "post-governance" approved model?
Thank you!
Hello Elizabeth,
I did some testing using your use case. I commented on a model. Then I created a definition copy, an occurance copy, a new variant and a new version of the original model. The comment was gone in both copies and new variant. The comment remained in the new version.
Does that make sense? Personally I think it makes sense that comments remain when a new version is created. Perhaps it also makes sence that comments remain when a new definition copy is created if argued that the comment is part of the model definition? IMHO, for a occurance copy and variant it makes little sense to also copy the comments.
I was unable to test your second question as I don't have an approval workflow enabled in aris. In our company we are a small team and tackle approval via manual process. ;-)
Cheers.
