yes, fragments are user defined.

They are placed under "Patterns" in the user profile. Currently, there is no way to distribute fragments automatically, this is still under discussion here how to do so.

But you can do the following in your project:

1. create a database containing modeling conventions (you can use this database also for modeling the content you want to allow in your project and create a filter based on this content automatically)
2. you can model also the fragments people should use to make the modeling fit to the modeling conventions

Now, project members have the task (only one time) to connect to this database, open the models and create fragments based on the content in the models.

This is organizational effort, right, but the advantage is, that you also have your modeling conventions documentated.

thank you for the fast answer.

In this context I have one more question:

Is it not possible that I configuried a couple of fragments, which are saved in my profile. Than I send the folder "Patterns" to the server administrator, who is implementing this folder in the profile, which is downloading while a user is loging  in ARIS? Than the user has the generic fragments, which I defined before and he had the possibility to change or create new ones. 

Might it works?

if you're talking about the download client, I do not know, but I guess not.

If you're talking about the software distribution system, which allows you to access the local profile directories, that should work.

sorry but i Don't get it.

What is the different between?

We have installed the ARIS on a Server an to open the Webapplikation, the user is opening a http-Link. There a small File is downloading and store in the userprofile.

Which one is matching to my discription?

I think the download client cannot be used to distribute fragments.

There exist software distribution tools, which allow to store/manipulate files on other computers. If you use such a tool, you could store the files on the other users computers.

I created a model header fragment that I would like to add automatically when a new model is created; is there a way that can done?  Also, is there a way to automatically populate all models in a database with this same fragment?  (I am using ARIS 7.1 SR8)

no, this is not possible currently.

What you're requiring is a feature called "model templates". This is currently under discussion.

In order to add a model header automatically you would need to write a macro script which is triggered by the event create new model and inserts the necessary model attributes or text fields.

If you leave this task to the user you could distribute a read-only model template in each database that should be used as a definition copy for new models.
