This guide illustrates the key BPMN process types (models) to consider before you start modeling. Choreographies and Conversation have been excluded in this overview. The focus is also on what Business Analysts need to model (non executable) in order to give a quality handover to System Analysts who will transform the models to an executable standard.
ARIS model
That's really a great resource for everyone just starting with BPMN. It provides an easy to follow decision tree to select the best BPMN diagram for the current modelling effort. I especially like it also includes small examples of the different diagrams so that you can visually see what you should use.
