Hi everyone,
I recently installed the ARIS Architect 9.8 on my laptop and ARIS Business Publisher on a virtual machine (using VMware), since it is impossible to have both on the same machine.
Now, my problem is that I can't add a publisher server on ARIS Administration (see attachment). Is this because I am using a virtual machine to user ARIS Business Publisher?
Any help on how to overcome this would be greatly appreciated!
Best regards, Felipe Henriques.
Hello,
I am working with a virtual machine for my tests and it works fine.
I am using virtual box.
Are you able to ping your VM from your local computer, if not, turn off the firewall on the VM and try again, check the connexion properties.
Once you are able to ping your VM, add a BP server using the IP address of your VM. If you don't install BP with the default port number, specify it after the VM ip address example for my configuration :
192.168.56.101:9090
Hope that can help you.
Best Regards
Dear Felipe,
If you are using ARIS Design/Connect Server + ARIS Publisher for demo purposes only, and your laptop has sufficient free RAM, CPU power and a fast hard disk (SSD), then you may just add Publisher on top of Design/Connect Server, simply via the ARIS Cloud Controller command configure, plus some tweaks afterwards in the Publisher configuration.
Of course, the downside of that approach is that you can NO longer update ARIS Design/Connect Server via setup (ARIS DVD). You would need to deconfigure Publisher first (losing your published databases!) before being able to run the ARIS Design/Connect Server setup again.
As for your connection issue between a native ARIS Design/Connect Server installation and Publisher inside VMware I would check if turning off the Windows firewall at both ends solve the issue. I think least port 19990 (Publisher) needs to be opened up in your VMware.
Cheers
