“Implementing Internal Control: Overcoming the Practical Hurdles” was the title of the first session I attended to today. Ron Hartman (Manager Control Corporate HCME) showed insight together with one of my IDS colleagues Michiel Jorna ( Sr Consultant IDS Scheer The Netherlands) in Hitatchi implementing Internal Control supported by ARIS. Hitachi was able to design and implement a SOx/J-Sox compliant internal control process in a multi language multi country environment at significant lower costs compared to previous years.
For privacy reasons we can’t name the exact figures but Hitatchi saved a seven digit amount (40% of total internal control costs). Beside cost reductions, quality improvements and lower enterprise risks are two other major benefits provided by the collaboration of Hitatchi and IDS Scheer. So far so good, but how do the future developments and challenges will look like? In the last part of the speech an outlook on this was also given. To cut a longer story short: There are a lot of new challenges coming and a lot of future developments enabled by ARIS.
