Dummy/Shortcut in a process model?

Hey guys,

I'm new in the community and i hope i'm posting in the right place. I have a little question!

I've been searching for a way to insert a shortcut in a BPM. The idea behind the shortcut is, that it should only be a couple of words (for example: "Click here to show details"), and as soon as you click on it it shows you further information. I would like to do this for the process description and process goal, so when i publish my model on the process-web, there is just a little shortcut in the corner on which you can click and it will automatically show you further information - on the same page - and not in a new tab or something.

Is there a possibility of such a dummy/shortcut? And would i be able to run it on all process models i have?

Hi Hamzah,

in the Default Layout of ARIS Business Publisher there is no possibility to configure "Mouse-over-infos" or "Info Bubbles".

You can create assignments, or you can create links to a document with further information.

Hi Michael,

thank you for your quick response. We don't use ARIS Business Publisher, we have another interface for publishing. We only use the ARIS Business Architect. Does that change the possibily of such "Bubbles"?

Hi Hamzah,

I do not know based on which convention you do BPM. Usually, you can configure attribute display for an object to have it displayed as symbol / icon instead of showing its content (text). If you do that, the designer shows the icon and displays the content only during mouse-over events.

As Michael pointed out, this behavior is not persisted during publishing, i.e. the (standard) ARIS Publisher does not do the same but shows a dysfunctional symbol / icon.

From my knowledge of which company is using which publisher, I would recommend you to ask specialists on GBTEC's publisher ;-) Meaning: what is happening with those "bubbles" is more due to the publisher of choice and not so much in the hands of ARIS modeling client (ARIS Business Architect in your case).

thank you for the response. Seems like your knowledge of companies publishers is really accurate ;)

I will go with your suggestions and see what i can get out of it.

*Edit: We use the 7.1 version of ARIS Business Architecht. Is the attribute 'Display' also availabe in that version? Because i'm not able to find it.
