Hi,
Today I tried to import a drawing from Visio into ARIS Express. In Visio the drawing was of type "Flowchart", and when opening it up in ARIS Express, there were some differences compared to the original. For instance, some connections were missing, some objects were not imported as into ARIS Express as connectable objects, other objects were not imported at all.
Is there a restriction on the drawings I want to import? Do they need to be of type "Flowchart" / "EPC"? Or is the intention that all drawings can be imported from Visio?
If anyone has tried this more than the 10 minutes I did, and have input, please let me know.
With regards / Harry Ratia, Volvo IT
Hi Harry,
at the moment you can import the following Visio diagram types:
EPC Diagram
Organization Chart
Basic Flowchart
Cross Functional Flowchart
Brainstorming Diagram
Work Flow Diagram
Basic/Detailed Network Diagram
Database Model Diagram
Enterprise Application Model
Audit Diagram
All other diagram types will be imported as a "General Diagram".
Only the connections which are allowed in the specific ARIS model appear in the imported model.
Regards, Torsten
Hello,
I have been trying to import a Visio cross-funtional flowchart into Aris Express (the file was saved as .vdx). I am new to Aris Express, and I have not been able to get the program to import the file. A box flashes quickly, but nothing happens, and the whiteboard remains blank. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you,
Lawrence Leffler
