Hi all,
I installed Aris express some weeks ago on a Windows7 machine and until now it was wrking fine.
But, since this week I cannot start the application anymore. Nomatter if I open a specific model or the application in general to start a new model, I always get a Java error message: Unable to launch the application.
I found some articles form the past where members post the same problem for windows XP and lower java versions.
I tried the fixes proposed there, but it does not solve my problem. Even e re-installation of Aris Express does not solve the issue (installation is not successful because of the same error).
Exact error description:
Application Error: Unable to launch the application
Details:
The following required fiels is missing from the launch file: <jnlp>
Launch File:
<HTML><HEAD><TITLE> Web Authentication Redirect</TITLE><META http-equiv="Cache-control" content="no-cache"><META http-equiv="Pragma" content="no-cache"><META http-equiv="Expires" content="-1"><META http-equiv="refresh" content="1; URL=https://10.10.2.5/login.html?redirect=download.ariscommunity.com/express.jnlp"></HEAD></HTML>

Hi,
is it possible, that you changed your location or you are connected now via a proxy, which requires input, e.g. user data?
The reason is, that Express tries to get a JNLP file, which describes the application title, version etc. This happens at every start, so new versions are downloaded automatically.
But your proxy or router does not deliver the JNLP file back, but a redirect HTML page, as shown by your post above. Logically, as a webstart application, Express is not able to read the HTML page.
Unfortunatly this is completely out of our hands. It is a serious bug, in my opinion, in the Java environment. But this should not hinder the application to start.
As a consequence, as long as the HTML redirect page is deliverd, Express won't start.
Bye,
Frank
Hi all,
I solved the issue on my machine with reseting my internet files in JAVA (windows 7)
In Start -> Control Panal, go to:
Programs -> Java and on the general tab in click in the area 'Temporary Internet Files' the settings button and than choose 1st: Delete Files and 2nd: Restore Defaults.
