Can anybody provide me with any guidance as to whether it is possible to export models from CASEwise Corporate Modeller into ARIS - possibly using the XML option?
If that isn't possible, are there any other options?
If you are able to suggest options can you advise pros and cons of doing so - for example does the export and/or import function lose some functionality in translation e.g. distinction of specific shapes or links between higher and lower level maps etc.
Any suggestions or experiences you have had (trying to do this yourselves) would be gratefully received - to prevent me digging myself a nice big hole!
Kind regards, Janine
Hi Janine
To be honest I mostly get questions about how to move to Casewise. There are a couple of tools around that might help you, but you are likely to have to be willing to lose a lot of information. As you suggest yourself, things like shapes will need to change to Aris shapes, you are also likely to lose definition data as well.
I guess the key question is why you might be considering switching from one tool to another. Casewise has a number of customers who have moved to them from Aris, the ones I heard of cited that Casewise was more flexible, easier to use and more cost effective.
I assume that that there will also be a few people who have gone the other way, but I am not familiar with these.
Do you use SAP? As I know Casewise have been working on some really neat solutions in this area.
(Please note I am an independent, bu did do some strategy work with Casewise last year - I share this in case of any perceived bias - I would certainly recommend reaching out to them, you may be able to use your situation in order to have them provide help to you.
Kind Regards
Mark
