Hi All,

I am stopping and starting ARIS Cloud Controller services from some time. I am not sure what each service does and how to see errors if any regarding them.

Can someone give me a link or explain where I can learn more about these?

The help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Rishabh,

There is no complete documentation with details about each runnable just description, also you check the log files to know what is happen.

First you can go directly for this folder which has more details about acc and agent.

ARIS9.8\server\logs\ARISCloudAgent.log

ARIS9.8\server\acc\log

Other option, is collect all log files and check what is happen with the system, to collect all them use this script ..\support\collectlogfiles.bat

Stopping the Windows service ARIS Agent will NOT stop ARIS Connect/Design Server!

Instead, for stopping the ARIS Connect Server, use either the program group item Stop ARIS Connect Server. (similar to ARIS Design Server, Publisher or ARCM). Alternatively, enter stopall in the ARIS Cloud Controller console (could be also triggered as a batch).

But why do you stop ARIS? In case you experience performance or connection issues, you should rather track down the root cause.

Cheers

Hi André Vitor Oliveira,

I have log files and SoftwareAG was helping with my issue. But I wanted to learn exactly what is performed by each services as in future if any service has an issue, I will be able to find root cause.

Still I appreciate the paths for each service. Thanks for that!! :)

Hi Rune Becker,

My Application was non-accessable for some reason. I tried to stop and re-start ARIS Cloud Controller, ARIS Agent (Services) and then re-start them hoping it will work again.

SoftwareAG helped us through the issue, but we don't know what each service does so I had no idea where the error existed.

I have found that postgresEPC_m is used to define Database Connection.

Am trying to learn the work of all other.

In the document ARIS 9.8 SR4 Technical Whitepaper you can find a simple overview of all runnables with a meaningful name. You can find that PDF in folder Documents\English on the ARIS DVD.

Cheers
