I am looking for a real good EA book that explains the different Frameworks (DoDAF, ToGAF, FEAF, Zachman, etc) into the weeds and also explains the details of how to kick a program off along with the details on how to build. Meaning, an EA is not just about building out models, but the identification of which models, tieing them together to provide actionable data. Please let me know your thoughts.
Is there an EA for Dummies book????
Not sure that "Dummies" and "Enterprise Architecture" are the terms matching each other. :-)
In my humble opinion comparision of frameworks is of not much value - at the end of the day your company will end up with organization specific framework anyway. The method of architecture development is of greater value for immature companies and here TOGAF ADM provides useful guidance.
Books and papers from MIT Sloan CISR "Enterprise Architecture as Strategy" are definitely worth reading. Also IFEAD has published a list of books on the subject...

Hi Daniel
I am currently reading fruITion and recrEAtion from Chris Potts and they are great! The first book (fruITion) tells the story of a CIO being challenged on his IT Strategy, while this same CIO is an Enterprise Architect in the second book and gets confronted with some awkward questions and comments. These books don't tell you what to do, but through the story you get the idea... ;-)
