Hi!

Is Document storage an automatic default when uploading document for a change request in ARIS 10? How can we disable it and allow ARIS users to upload from external storage such as from their own PC?

BR,

Julie

Dear Julie,

Did you click on the Upload button? Then you get prompted for uploading a file. And there's another Upload button which let's you select a file for a local source.

Cheers

I probably misunderstood your initial question. I thought are wanted to know from where to upload. Now I understand that you are asking where to store the uploaded documents.

By default, and since ARIS 10.0 GA (April 2017), ARIS Document Storage (ADS) stores its data in server-based folder (C:\SoftwareAG\ARIS10.0\server\bin\work\work_adsadmin_m\data), and only meta data in its RDBMS.

You may change that cross-tenant setting at best when ADS isn't yet used. Either change the path pointing to another file server (e.g. \\server\folder), or turn it off to have ARIS storing the files in its RDMS (less recommended due to performance reasons).

Another alternative for connecting files to processes is the option to connect an external Microsoft SharePoint server.

Cheers
