Hi Mashzoners!

I am now also working with this fine tool and actually I like it very much......but: after reading in my file (59.600 rows) I got the message "limitation is reached - only 1000 rows allowed". The "Professional" Version could handle 10.000 rows - also not enough for my purposes.
So I tried to go around this limitation and created several tablets with not more than 1000 rows and merged in Mashzone them together - Same problem: Tool stops reading after the first tablet.
Now I am wondering: Is there any other way known to you to avoid this? I mean, this kind of tool is made for analyzing very complex and especially very voluminous databases.
And in my opinion 1000 or even 10000 rows are MUCH too less......

Warm regards
Michael

Hi Michael,

please keep in mind that MashZone is no data warehouse. It is a dashboarding tool to quickly analyze data that has been aggregated before. So you need a backend to delegate the heavy duty to. Tobias' post gives you an idea how to incorporate a web service which returns the "correct 10k of lines".

If you need to analyse vast amounts of data ARIS Process Performance Manager might be of interesst.

Regards

Stephan

Dear Stephan,

if I got you correctly that means Mashzone is made for analyzing pivot tablets that have already been aggregated and reduced to the important figures? E.g. sold products in region Northeast Asia from Jan 2000 to Dec 2000? With a total product variety of 70 that would mean 70 rows by 12 columns.....

Exactly - you need to query another system that handles pivoting and similar.

Dear fellows,

I encounter the same problem with the data limit. Is the limit a technical limit ?

Yes, its motivation is a technical one. As explained above MashZone is no data warehouse but a visualization/dashboard tool. It works seamlessly with, for instance ARIS PPM, doing the number crunching.
